Tis the Season
Well, it's official....it's getting closer to Christmas. Today....(drumroll)....I saw our first brief flurry. It was just for 3 minutes; so it didn't stick or anything, but nevertheless, our nice weather is on its way out. Oh well. It was a beautiful year. On to the next season.
One thing that I can pretty much guarantee is that the hunters out there will be glad when the snow starts to fly. Better to track with, and easier to hide, I guess. What I can't figure out is what the draw is to wake up before daybrake in freezing temperatures to go outside and sit all day hoping to see something--not to mention get the chance to shoot at it. Maybe someone could explain it to me? Matt's excited about it, that's all I know; and as long as he's happy, I'm happy.
Guess what?! We got to see our niece a few weeks ago! She and her mom & dad were down visiting Matt's family (the grandparents). It was wonderful being able to randomly spend time with them, especially since they are hard to get ahold of. She is such a cutie--and looks a lot like my sister-in-law, Brittney. What do you get a baby for Christmas? Any suggestions? What do you get her parents if you don't know them very well yet?
Well, the countdown is on....only 10 days (give or take) until Matt gets his (our) new four-wheeler. The man is so excited! It's quite cute. I'm sure he'll be on cloud 9 when it comes in. We've been saving up for it with the money he makes selling firewood for a little more than a year. It's being made by the manufacturers this and last week and should arrive any time. I don't think wild horses would be able to keep him away from the dealer when we get the call that it's arrived.
Do any of you know how to get a horse back into pasture when he obviously doesn't like you? I woke up a week ago monday and found 2 of our grandpa's horses (which he pastures behind the house) roaming around in our front yard. Which they obviously weren't supposed to be. You guys know I'm not a cowgirl, and boy, do I need to work on that! I had to leave for work at 7 and was chasin horses around at 6:30-6:45. Crazy! Fortunately, Grandpa was home and able to come over and help me corral the things and find the fence so I could get to work. What a life-saver!
Life in the country isn't as calm as I thought it would be I guess...but I like it that way.
