Tis the Season

Well, it's official....it's getting closer to Christmas.  Today....(drumroll)....I saw our first brief flurry.  It was just for 3 minutes; so it didn't stick or anything, but nevertheless, our nice weather is on its way out.  Oh well.  It was a beautiful year.  On to the next season.

One thing that I can pretty much guarantee is that the hunters out there will be glad when the snow starts to fly.  Better to track with, and easier to hide, I guess.  What I can't figure out is what the draw is to wake up before daybrake in freezing temperatures to go outside and sit all day hoping to see something--not to mention get the chance to shoot at it.  Maybe someone could explain it to me?  Matt's excited about it, that's all I know; and as long as he's happy, I'm happy.

Guess what?!  We got to see our niece a few weeks ago!  She and her mom & dad were down visiting Matt's family (the grandparents).  It was wonderful being able to randomly spend time with them, especially since they are hard to get ahold of.  She is such a cutie--and looks a lot like my sister-in-law, Brittney.   What do you get a baby for Christmas?  Any suggestions?  What do you get her parents if you don't know them very well yet?

Well, the countdown is on....only 10 days (give or take) until Matt gets his (our) new four-wheeler.  The man is so excited!  It's quite cute.   I'm sure he'll be on cloud 9 when it comes in.  We've been saving up for it with the money he makes selling firewood for a little more than a year.  It's being made by the manufacturers this and last week and should arrive any time.  I don't think wild horses would be able to keep him away from the dealer when we get the call that it's arrived.

Do any of you know how to get a horse back into pasture when he obviously doesn't like you?  I woke up a week ago monday and found 2 of our grandpa's horses (which he pastures behind the house) roaming around in our front yard. Which they obviously weren't supposed to be.  You guys know I'm not a cowgirl, and boy, do I need to work on that!  I had to leave for work at 7 and was chasin horses around at 6:30-6:45.  Crazy!  Fortunately, Grandpa was home and able to come over and help me corral the things and find the fence so I could get to work.  What a life-saver!

Life in the country isn't as calm as I thought it would be I guess...but I like it that way.

Morning all,

Talk about a weird weekend!  Saturday I had a huge sheet of glass explode while I was trying to clean.  That was scary!  I always thought that at least part of those scenes were special effects--maybe not!

Saturday night we went to a friend's reception.  It went well until around 11 when the couple went inside and turned off all the house lights...we took the subtle hint and left.  I just hope everything ended up ok.  Though since some of the others that remained didn't help things by stacking cans up in front of their door, it's hard to say.

Because of this and some other things that have been going on, it has been on my mind for a while now how hard it is to know what to do sometimes.  They are not Christians--nor were most of the people there--that I'm aware of; so it is sometimes a challenge to know how to encourage them and witness to them. Especially how far to be amused.  Some things are funny..but not..but...I hate being able to argue both sides!   Then, on the flip side, what do you do regarding people who profess to be Christians but who don't act like it ....or who may just profess but aren't.  Too much stuff going on.  I know that we are to "confront in love"...but it seems there are some clauses that Christ just didn't address!

And for those of you who are wondering, I know most of you from Cedarville...my name used to be Becky Hart.  But now I'm "Mrs. Red"  (my husband Matt's nickname is "Big Red"...he's 6'5...with red hair...obviously a big red-head! )  I hope that helps clear up the mystery & I hope each of you are doing well!  It sounds as though you are.

Sorry this was so long.  Catch ya later!

Morning All,

Figured I might as well get in tune with the times and get myself a Xanga.  With so many friends scattered everywhere, not a bad idea. :)

After graduating from Cedarville in '03, I found myself back in "sunny" PA, married and  working in the ad specialty industry.  It's amazing the road God has us travel!  Now, all I need to do is find out what's next!
